Sugar Cookie Recipe (Suger Kuki)

I've gone longer than I meant to between postings, but with all the life changes it's not that surprising. Parts of this recipe we have seen before, but some of it has me completely befuddled, like the text on the right hand side. I just love the way she spelled cookie!

Sugar Cookie

1 1/2 ?????
2 c Flour
1/2 c(?) sugar
soft ?????
eggs, 4 yellow egg yolks

My best guess for the text on the right hand side is "freeze dough to put", but I could be totally off base with that.

Completed Recipe

1 1/2 Butter
2 c Flour
1/2 c sugar
a pinch of salt
4 eggs
egg yolks for glazing

Freeze the dough

"Solt pincz" is definitely "salt pinch," i.e., a pinch of salt.

definitely, any idea what the first thing might be?

As usual, Sam beat me to the punch--I was writing to say that a pinch of salt is what Bubbie must have meant. Also I think the 1 1/2 must refer to some kind of butter or shortening--that's the only thing missing from this recipe!

Great blog idea! I love it.

I also read this as a pinch of salt (as I mentioned by email), and I agree with Erika that the 1 1/2 ____ is referring to butter. I want to read it as "love," but only because in our kitchen, "made with love" means "made with butter." From the actual letters it looks like "bore" -- we have seen her letters b, o, r, and e before. Could that be phonetic for butter?

it does look like "bore". I looked up the word for butter in Hungarian, Russian, German, Czech, and Yiddish thinking that it might be from one of those, but no luck.
