YOU ARE SORELY MISSED!Lynda Marks Kraarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15921832270981476694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5971925694114037421.post-16713218321105101842009-10-06T14:30:57.298-07:002009-10-06T14:30:57.298-07:00This looks a lot like a recipe I make for my family on holidays:<br />Cheese Noodle Kugel<br />1lb broad egg noodles<br />5 eggs<br />1/2 cup sugar<br />8oz cottage cheese (I use Ricotta, it&#39;s they way my Nana did it.)<br />1/2c sour cream<br />1/2 cup white raisins<br />1tsp vanilla<br />8oz can of crushed pineapple(we usually skip this)<br />Cinnamon to taste, we just add it until it looks right.<br />-----------------------<br />Mix all the ingredients together. What a wonderful way to transmit her love for you via cooking, to your children. The recipe for aye kichel:<BR/>this means egg cookie, but they are not really a cookie per se. They are those big twisty knot things they serve at synagogue, some have sugar sprinkled on top. I don't know how to make them, but they look like pieces of dough which are slightly twisted, and when baked, they puff up and are filled with air when your bite into them. Do you know what I mean? I wonder if what looks like "kave cziz" might be cream cheese. Could that be what they called it in Hungarian?
